About the Institute
Established by the world renowned Dr. Ian T. Jackson, the Craniofacial Institute has been a resource for advanced, specialized care in craniofacial, head and neck, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery for over twenty years. Our multi-disciplinary team of specialists is available to provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. The Institute is certified with the State of Michigan, Department of Community Health for Children's Multidisciplinary Specialty Services.
Our Approach
A team approach to personalized care is provided to all patients of Dr. Ian Jackson and Dr. Mark Hnatiuk. A full array of advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities are utilized providing you the highest quality, most comprehensive care. We also have many years of experience meeting the unique needs of pediatric patients with craniofacial disorders – from simple procedures to highly complex cases. Our focus is to treat and support the ongoing care of our pediatric and young adult patients, enabling them to live normal and healthy lives. It is important to note that the primary goals of reconstructive surgery are to restore form and function to as normal a range as possible. There are times when only one procedure may gain the desired result. However, in cases of severe deformity it is more usual for there to be several planned procedures in order to reach the desired final result. The surgeon will work closely with patients and families to plan the most appropriate treatment course.
